OUR DESIGNS: Hearthwood's designs have covered the full spectrum of rustic styles. We began with the traditions of Indiana hickory, bent willow, twig furniture, and designs from the Adirondacks. Over the years we evolved into using hand hewn logs, barn beams, and free form natural trees to create our pieces. Our furniture is both classic and modern. It is for the cabin, the cottage, the contemporary house and the elegant home. The Forest collection and the Fireside collection represent a devotion to timeless design and enduring value. Our custom pieces and structures are what make our work exciting and fresh. "GREEN" MATERIALS: We have always used reclaimed wood from barns, old buildings and discarded trees. We use a variety of hard woods, including hickory, maple, walnut, oak, birch and ironwood. All of our wood is kiln dried. Our finishes are all water-based. HISTORY: In 1987, Andrew Brown left his corporate advertising job in New York City. Coming home to the woods of Michigan, he began Hearthwoods Rustic Furnishings. Over the years Andrew’s designs have evolved to become elegant and classic. These designs are executed by Hearthwoods’ now numerous, highly talented craftsmen. His work has been recognized by numerous national publications such as Architectural Digest, Country Living, and Mountain Living Magazine. MISSION: Hearthwoods’ highly talented craftsmen focus on quality and beautiful styling. Their goal is to create furnishings that will be cherished by generations to come.
